A family tradition for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays for many reasons.  First of all, two of the most important words one will ever speak are THANK YOU~  Thanksgiving is a glorious family holiday with no pressure of gifts, a four day holiday and a time for family, love, warmth, joy and caring.
There is a tradition we started at our house years ago and we continue this every year on Thanksgiving - we go around the table and everyone shares what they are thankful for.  It has become a tender time of sharing and caring!
During the year we have another tradition called ROSE & THORN.  We go around the dinner table and share our ROSE for the day - which is the best thing that happened and then our THORN for the day- which is the worst thing that happened.  We usually say the thorn first so we end on a good note. It is important to have time together as a family and especially around the table.  This year I encourage families to focus on what they are thankful for and remember the most valued thing we have in our lives is relationships.
Treasure your friends and family and treat them with love.
